Ultrasonic Teeth Cleaning ( Emmi Pet)
At Top Dog Grooemrs we offer Emmi Pet Teeth cleaning in store:
Initial Consultation Assessment - 1hr - £40
Includes a toothbrush head that will only be used for your dog, plus treatment.
The head will need to be replaced after approx 20 treatments, or sooner if required. Some dogs may chew the brush head, if this is excessive it may need replacing sooner to maintain effectiveness. Replacement brush heads are £8:50each.
** Please note that all dogs will require an Initial Consultation Assessment before starting their course of teeth cleaning. This will allow us at Top Dog groomers to assess the condition of your dog's teeth and also allows me to get your dog used to and happy with the procedure **
Follow-On Treatments - 30 mins - £20
This option is great for puppies and dogs with clean teeth, as part of their oral hygiene maintenance. It's also good for dogs with a small build-up of tartar, where only a few sessions may be needed. Simply use these follow-on sessions as and when necessary.
Add On To A Regular Groom - £12
If your dog comes to me for a regular groom, I'll be able to add on the teeth cleaning service - please note that their appointments will be approximately 30 mins longer than usual.
70gm Tube of Orozyme Gel - For Use In Between Teeth Cleaning Treatments - £20
Orozyme Dental Gel's composition adheres to the teeth and palate and allows the ingredients to remove existing plaque. In addition, it prevents the formation of new plaque and tartar, so counteracting bad breath and possible inflammation. Simply put the gel directly into the mouth of your dog, preferable on both sides, between the lips and gums.
How Do I Know My Dog's Teeth Need Cleaning?
When food particles and bacteria accumulate on your dog's gum line, plaque is formed - a sticky, colourless film that covers teeth when not cleaned. Combined with saliva and minerals, it transforms into tartar (hardened plaque), which causes gum irritation, premature tooth loss and an inflammatory condition called gingivitis.
Symptoms:
Have you noticed that your dog has bad breath?
Are your dog's teeth yellow/brown coloured, especially close to the gum line?
Does your dog have red/sore looking gums?
Does your dog exhibit any signs of mouth shyness?
Is your dog off their food or chews?
It's estimated that by the time they are two years old, 80% of dogs begin to show signs of oral disease!
How Emmi-Pet Works
Emmi-Pet with its unique and patented dental care system, is now setting a new trend for a completely new kind of dental cleaning and oral hygiene. It's gentle, motionless and does not involve brushing or any abrasive action!
This revolutionary method is based on a globally unique patent - the Ultrasonic Piezo-Chip created by Emmi-dent. This Piezo-Chip sits in the head of the ultrasonic toothbrush and generates up to 96 million oscillations (air vibrations) per minute. By comparison, electric toothbrushes generate approximately 20,000 oscillations per minute
These ultrasound waves are then transferred, via the bristles of the toothbrush head, onto Emmi-Pet's specially formulated toothpaste. The ultrasound waves penetrate the gum up to 12mm deep, getting into the gum pockets and soft tissue, killing all the bacteria and impurities that can cause periodontal disease.
At this point 'micro bubbles' are generated, which react with the air vibrations and implode. These implosions effectively eliminate and remove food particles, plaque and bacteria from the teeth, gums, palate and tongue.
10 Reasons Dog Owners Are Loving Emmi-Pet Teeth Cleaning
1. It's a very gentle way to clean teeth, as there is no need for mechanical movement.
2. It's completely silent and non-vibrating - so readily accepted by the majority of dogs.
3. It kills bacteria, promotes blood circulation, softens tartar and has a sterilising effect.
4. It's very effective against bleeding gums, bad breath and prevents periodontitis, ulcers and other dental diseases.
5. It's ideal as a preventative treatment for puppies and young dogs who have not yet developed excessive plaque and tartar.
6. No anesthetic or sedative is required, so particularly good for dogs who, for whatever reason, are unable to have anesthetic - elderly dogs or those with medical issues.
7. It cleans gums up to 12mm deep with gentle ultrasonic waves and is non-invasive.
8. It prevents and removes tartar and plaque build up.
9. Used regularly it is a preventative treatment for tooth and gum disease.
10. The ultrasonic waves from the Emmi-Pet have been tested and proven to be absolutely safe.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will It Hurt My Dog?
No - the ultrasound technology is completely painless. There is also no noise or vibration from the brush, it simply needs to be held against each tooth for approximately 30 seconds, so no brushing or scrubbing is necessary. Happily, most dogs quickly accept the process.
How Quickly Will I See A Difference In My Dog's Teeth?
There is no definitive answer to this as it depends on the condition of the teeth at the start of the treatment. If the teeth have very heavy plaque deposits it may take around 10 treatments, or more to see a difference in the amount of plaque. Be assured though, from the very first use, the ultrasound is killing the bacteria in the mouth, which results in the immediate reduction, or even total elimination of bad breath!
If your dog only has a small amount of tartar build up then you will see a visual difference more quickly, although this depends on how frequently your bring your dog for treatment.
Teeth Cleaning Terms and Conditions please read;
If your dog’s teeth are showing a significant amount of tartar build up, or are in poor condition, I will always recommend that you seek veterinary attention. It may be that your dog will initially require a dental descale under anesthetic. However, it should then be possible to continue with a regular schedule of ultrasound teeth cleaning, in order to maintain your dog’s dental health and hygiene.
Please note that although this method of dental care is highly effective at removing tartar, improving gum and mouth health and eliminating the cause of bad breath, I cannot guarantee the treatments effectiveness or suitability for individual dogs, due to varying external factors.
Each dog will have their own toothbrush head that will be exclusively theirs and will be kept at Top Dog Groomers . This is purchased at the initial treatment session and will need to be replaced after approximately 20 treatments (or if it’s damaged by the dog chewing on it) for £8:50
Please remember that I am not a vet and so cannot diagnose any problems with your dog’s mouth and that the Emmi-pet treatment is not a veterinary procedure.
I cannot be held responsible for any problems occurring from poor dentition before, during or after any ultrasound treatments – such as tooth removal, gingivitis etc.
Removal of even mild tartar can reveal conditions that could not be seen prior to its removal. If this occurs, it is the responsibility of the owner to seek veterinary attention.
